New Research Project on Growing Hops

Growing interest in commercial production of hops (Humulus lupulus) in Iowa has led to a new research project at the ISU Horticulture Research Station north of Ames.  The one-acre planting required an 18-foot high trellis system and nearly 1,000 plants.  Read more about the hops and the new research project in the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Yard & Garden news release from August 18, 2015.
