The ISU Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic (PIDC) has released their annual report for 2011. Please take a moment to view the report online.
In 2011, PIDC processed 2059 samples and responded to 3247 inquiries from farmers and producers, homeowners, commercial service providers and State and Federal regulatory agencies. Of the physical samples, 48% were for disease diagnosis, 18% insects, 14% abiotic problems, 12% soybean cyst nematode analysis, 6% corn nematode analysis and 2% plant identification.
PIDC is a multidisciplinary source for timely, comprehensive, and accurate diagnosis of plant and insect problems and information on integrated pest management, utilizing expertise from the Departments of Agronomy, Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology, Entomology, Horticulture, Natural Resource Ecology and Management and Plant Pathology and Microbiology.
