Beekeeping Classes in Iowa

Beginning beekeeper courses offered by the Iowa Honey Producers Association (IHPA) are planned for several locations around the state. Locations, dates and times are tentative and subject to change. Please contact the instructor for the course in your area as soon as possible to express your interest in attending. Fees vary with location but are between $30 and $60.

Winterset. Pat Randol, instructor. 515-210-7445. Thursdays from January 26 to March 5 (no class on Feb 26). Winterset library.

DMACC Ankeny Campus. John Johnson, instructor. Contact Lois Kiester at DMACC to enroll. 515-964-6685. Thursdays 7:00 to 9:00 pm from January 29 for six weeks.

Marshalltown. Phil Ebert and Margaret Hala, instructors. Contact Jean Brownlie at Iowa Valley Continuing Education to enroll. 800-284-4823 or 641-752-4645 Ext 5607. Thursdays 7:00 to 9:00 pm from February 5 for six weeks.

Kirkwood Washington Campus. Ron Wehr, instructor. 319-698-7542. Contact Kirkwood to enroll. 800-352-8833. Class date has not been determined; 4 classes expected to start in mid- to late February.

Spencer. Larry or Marlene Boernsen, instructor. 712-735-4205. Weekend course will begin in March.
