Copper Deficiency
When plants are deficient in copper, symptoms typically appear on young leaves and growing points and include stunted growth, pale green to yellow foliage, leaf tip dieback, twisting or curling of new leaves, and weak or floppy stems. In severe cases, new shoots may die back, and flowering or seed production can be reduced. Copper deficiency can be confused with iron deficiency, which also affects young leaves but shows clear interveinal chlorosis, or with zinc deficiency, which also causes stunted growth and distorted new foliage. Because symptoms overlap and iron deficiency is much more common, get a soil or tissue test to confirm the problem.
