The Women's Woodland Stewardship Network (WWSN) is excited to offer an urban tree care workshop in Ames that will focus on pruning and planting. The upcoming workshop will take place in the evening on Tuesday, September 23rd, from 5:00-7:00 pm. We will meet participants at Carr Park (1704 Meadowlane Ave, Ames, IA 50010) and spend some time getting to know each other, then head out to practice proper pruning skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to see a tree planting demonstration. Our speakers, Gabbi Edwards (Ames City Forester) and Emma Hanigan (Iowa DNR Urban Forester), will lead the activities and answer questions participants have about tree care in their own backyards.
