Reiman Gardens' Internship Program Educates the Next Generation of Horticulture Professionals

Reiman Gardens' mission is to educate, enchant, and inspire an appreciation of plants, insects, and the beauty of the natural world. The internship program highlights all aspects of this mission and works to connect Reiman Gardens to the central campus of Iowa State University.

Pre-professional internships are full-time during the summer, hiring students into a range of departments, including entomology, marketing, education, and, of course, horticulture. Part-time internships over the fall and spring semesters allow students to gain hands-on experience while classes are in session. Reiman Gardens interns gain work experience, learn about botanical garden and non-profit operations through tailored professional development, and practice communication skills both through written reflections and social media content creation.

As the start of the fall semester at Iowa State approaches, the interns are sharing their backgrounds and experiences.  Click on the link below to learn more about the amazing young professionals and the work they're doing at Reiman Gardens.
